Want to know what it’s like to work with us at
From our nurses to our physicians to our support staff, everyone at Chatham Hospital does everything in their power to deliver the best possible care to the people of North Carolina. It’s a special type of work environment. One where we all share equally in the mission and vision of Chatham Hospital and everyone gets the support they need to grow their skills, their abilities and their career. But don’t take our word for it. We went to the people who know best—our employees. Discover what they have to say below.
Registered Nurse, Med/Surg
Care at Chatham is a team effort. From the nurses you work with every day to the physicians and managers, we’re all here for the patients. We’re encouraged to help each other and everyone goes out of their way to help.
Dawn’s proud of the projects she’s been a part of at Chatham. One she’s particularly proud of looked at the challenges facing recent hip and joint replacement patients post-surgery. As part of a cross-discipline team, Dawn looked at ways to ease the transition into rehabilitation, cutting down on the time patients had to wait. The team effort led to innovative ideas that have improved health outcomes and quicker recovery times.
Director of Medical Interpreters
UNC is at the heart of the medical field here in North Carolina. When you join our team, you’ll have all kind of opportunities and experiences that you can’t get really get anywhere else. Just a lot of support to learn, grow and pursue your goals.
How do you get help if you can’t explain what’s wrong? That’s where Maria comes in. She’s a medical interpreter, and every day she works with her team to make connections and give patients a voice. It’s how she ensures that everyone who walks through our doors gets the care they need. You could say it’s a passion for her and beyond that, she enjoys the exciting, challenging and ultimately rewarding work environment she finds at Chatham.
Lean Transformation Specialist
The main reason I came to UNC, and specifically Chatham Hospital, is the opportunities to learn and grow. There are so many ways to move forward, both at the hospital and throughout the UNC system.
As a specialist in Lean Transformation, Michael looks for ways to improve how work is done at Chatham Hospital. That means coaching departmental leaders in Lean culture, auditing different processes to ensure the standards set forth are met and participating in sessions to help generate ideas for future advancements.
